Back in the day, our ancestors used animal fats to clean and moisturize their faces, but also to make ointments and salves to help with skin ailments. Tallow is rendered beef fat, which can come from anywhere on the body of a cow- but we specifically use suet fat, located around the kidneys of only grass fed + finished cows for our face moisturizer. It is filled with vitamins A, D, K, E as well as Palmitic acid, Stearic acid, Myristic acid, Oleic acid, Palmitoleic acid, Linoleic acid, and Linolenic acid. Beef fat is also a byproduct of the meat industry and creating something useful out of the entirety of an animal is important to us.

Meadowfoam seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the white, flowering meadowfoam plant native to the northwest United States. It is rated lower than almost every other carrier oil on the comedogenic scale at 0-1, meaning it is very unlikely to clog pores. It’s been shown to help sun damage and stretch marks due to its high amount of vitamin E. It is not greasy, the perfect choice for acne-prone sensitive skin, and has zero scent.

Our unscented whipped tallow may have a buttery-like scent, but is highly recommended by our sensitive skin customers. A 2 oz jar usually lasts me 6 months if just using it for a facial moisturizer- our larger sizes are great if you are using it on your body everyday!
